The Buddha head sculpted with a serene facial expression showing downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into the nose-bridge, urna cavity originally set with a bead, slightly puffy cheeks, finely carved smiling lips, elongated earlobes and the curled hairdo continuing into the ushnisha, the reverse with rectangular hole for a bracket insert.
From the estate of the collection of the Berlin publisher Dr. Otto Eyssler (1861 - 1927). His estate auctioned by Internationales Auktionshaus Berlin, published 19.5.1930, lot 722, - Old South German private collection, received through inheritance in the 1950s - Nose partially restored, partly chipped
